Kamla Nehru Public School is proud to share that it is the only School in Phagwara which has bagged a grant from the Government of India towards the setting up of Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in the School premises. On Saturday, 21st July 2018, Mr. Mohammad Tayyab, (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala, inaugurated the Atal Tinkering Lab at Kamla Nehru Public School, Phagwara. SDM Phagwara, Major Dr. Sumit Mudh, was the Guest of Honour of the day. The Atal Tinkering Lab is a Space to Innovate, to Create, to Tinker. The First Generation learners of the School would now be tinkering, would now be innovating and the school would be producing scientist in the years to come. Atal Tinkering Lab is equipped with 3D Printers, Robotics, Electronics Development tools; IoT & Sensors etc. 3 days’ workshop was conducted in the school premises from 12th June 2018 to 14th June 2018 during the summer vacation. 51 Students from Grade VI to XII, who volunteered, participated in the first ever hands-on training along with 5 teachers. Training helped them in fostering creativity. Students were equipped with skills of the future. The School Principal Ms. P.K. Dhillon stated that, Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) is all set to enable students to create and innovate using technology. ATL would encourage Design Thinking for students of class VI to XII so that students can observe, identify, practice and solve problems.
